Achieving social equity in the senior care industry

We stand with you to listen, learn, and  move past words to take meaningful action.

Caregivers Against Racism was created to give caregivers and senior care professionals the opportunity to stand in solidarity with the communities of people who are continually on the receiving end of social and racial injustice. We want to take this moment to listen and learn from our caregivers on how we can improve our industry and make sure everyone's voice is heard, while also giving back to those who will lead us forward in these consequential times.

Our mission is to create a coalition of caregivers and senior care providers who will work to make meaningful change towards racial equity in the home care industry.

Through donations, initiatives and public feedback, we hope to rise up to the occasion and meet this moment head on.

The Coalition

We invite providers to join the cause by informing the public about the ways they are combating racism. If you are a senior care provider and would like to join Caregivers Against Racism, please share your initiatives and your logo. We will highlight your efforts on the site and share feedback as we learn more. Your initiatives can inspire others to join in and take action!

The Initiatives

JULY 2020
HomeCare.com
Starting July 1, 2020, ShiftMed will donate $1 for every shift worked during the month of July to organizations that focus on ending racial injustice. The causes will be selected by the nurses on our team and updated on this site.

JUNE 2020
The Geller Group
As a firm, we are taking affirmative steps to expand our prior work to help combat racism and inequality.
  • In June of 2020, the firm ran a Donation Matching Program focused on donating thousands of dollars to organizations that support black lives such as the Loveland Foundation, Campaign Zero, Movement for Black Lives, and NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund, to name a few.
  • Utilized our social media network to highlight and drive business to local, black-owned companies.
  • Recognized Juneteenth as a paid firm holiday for the first time this year.
  • Supported the effort of GLG Owner/CEO Rebecca Geller to raise money for Fair Fight Action whose goal is to eliminate voter suppression, which disproportionately impacts Black voters.
